FAQ

01/

Do you offer Academic Writing?

No, I do not. I have a firm policy against academic dishonesty and will only offer editing and proofreading services on completed drafts of any academic work. Additionally, I retain the right to refuse any academic work that is so poorly written that it would require an entire rewrite.

What is the difference between Editing & Proofreading?

Editing includes proofreading, but is a far more involved process than proofreading (alone). In editing, I have the flexibility to make major changes to the structure, flow, content, wording and tone to improve the document generally. While in proofreading (alone), your voice and style is 100% unchanged. I simply check for errors and inconsistencies related to grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure. Due to this difference, proofreading is offered at a lower cost than editing.

What if I only need proofreading services?

Perfect! It's easy for me and essential for you. Remember always polish before you publish!

What payment options are available on your website?

My secure online payment portal allows for credit card payment by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Diners, CUP, JCB and Maestro. You can also pay via Paypal or use the option of making a Manual Payment (cash)

05/

What if I don't have a credit card?

That's totally fine; I'm here for that too. On the website payment portal, there is an option for manual payment. When you select this option, I will share my bank details with you privately, which allows you to make a cash payment directly into a local bank account.

What if I require regular editing services as a small business owner?

I offer affordably priced retainer arrangements where I provide regular editing services in exchange for a fixed monthly fee. Although this service is open to all, it was designed primarily with small business owners in mind. Recognizing the heightened resource and time constraints of many small business owners, I believe my editing retainer services are attractive to this group. I help you put your 'best foot forward' by ensuring all your written correspondence and documentation is clear, coherent, polished and intentionally written.

If I bring an idea, can you turn it into a Business Plan?

Yes, but you will need to bring far more than just an idea! The business plan drafting service that I offer is a highly consultative process where I gather from YOU: the who, what, when, where, why and how of your proposed business idea. I will do a bit of basic research on the type of business firstly, but through probing questions, I force you to critically and thoroughly assess your business idea. I then use my knowledge of business plan development to logically organize your ideas into a formal business plan. My background in Economics and Accounting gives me quite an advantage in helping you through the financial plan section, which can be a bit technical. At the end of this consultative business plan drafting process, I will give you a basic plan which is the critical first step in turning your business idea into a reality. However, it may be the case that the consultative process reveals significant gaps in your understanding of the market, the logical operations of the business or the cost outlay involved. In that case, I would still produce a draft plan, but with those gaps highlighted for you to research further. It can be a work in progress that we complete over time.

What if I don't want to have a video or voice consultation?

As this is a discreet service, flexibility is essential. Although the free consultation is a valuable part of the process, if—for whatever reason—you prefer not to consult in this way, you can email your job request directly to intentionallywritten@gmail.com. We can discuss via email, after which I will provide an invoice for payment in the usual discreet and secure way.

09/

Can you guarantee 100% grammatically perfect, error-free work?

No, I cannot. I am not an English expert nor the authority on the somewhat convoluted rules of grammar or punctuation. Although I do possess strong writing and editing skills, my command of punctuation remains a work in progress, I am human, far from perfect and therefore prone to make errors at times.

10/

What if the contents of your work are not 100% accurate?

Please be minded that I do not operate a fact-checking service or engage in heavy research. In producing written works on your behalf—such as formal letters and business plans—I act as an agent whose primary function is to gather and organize your ideas, your recollection of events and analysis, then turn them into written text. Upon completion of writing, you are then given total ownership of the document and become wholly responsible for the accuracy of the contents therein. If upon review, you feel I have misrepresented you or any of the details therein, I am quite happy to make the necessary amendments at no additional cost to ensure the document accurately represents you. I, however, bear no responsibility for the accuracy of documents.

11/

How do I know your service is discreet?

Well, you don't know, but you can trust me on that! Trust the fact that I have been ghostwriting for well over a decade and have never taken credit for any written work produced. Trust the fact that I do not share any samples of work done because I maintain that completed work is not in any way my property. Trust that I genuinely want to help you present your best work, and have no interest in receiving praise or recognition in the process of you winning. I happily work 100% behind the scenes and have never disclosed names or details of any of the persons, students, businesses or websites with whom I have worked for years. You can rest assured, it doesn't profit me to start now.

12/

How will one person manage to do so many writing and editing tasks?

Daily quotas. In order to guarantee the quality of my work, I will not overextend myself by accepting more jobs than I can comfortably handle within the requested deadlines. Jobs will be accepted on a first-pay, first-served basis, so I would encourage you to book (and pay) at your soonest to guarantee service. Additionally, I am supported by a small team who are available to assist with editing and proofreading tasks during busy times.

13/

Do you offer teaching?

Not at this time. However, by subscribing to my mailing list, you will periodically receive tips, advice, guidance and printable resources to help make you a better writer. In future, I am inclined to offer short writing workshops on drafting business plans, CVs & cover letters, funding requests and other key documents that seem to be a source of distress to many.
